PlainSpending retains annual state-level USASpending.gov totals in the spending_trends dataset. According to USASpending.gov, the fiscal year compared here ends September 30; this page compares the FY2025 annual record with the equivalent FY2024 record. It subtracts each state or territory's FY2024 total from its FY2025 total, compares only rows available in both fiscal years, and links every result to its underlying state profile and multi-year trend. Read the methodology before using a change as evidence of a local economic or policy outcome.
